Transnational patients have special needs. Prof. Eberhard Nöfer und Prof. Niko Kohls from Coburg University discussed that at a conference in Washington.

Refugees, migrants, expatriates and medical tourists are transnational tourists. How to handle the different needs of the persons was the question of the conference “When in ‘Roam’ … Transnational Patients: Practical and Ethical Implications for Medical Practices and Health Promotions Policy”.

The Pellegrino Center for Clinical Bioethics initiated the conference in cooperation with the Georgetown-Howard Universities Center for Clinical and Translational Science (GHUCCTS).
Eberhard Nöfer and Niko Kohls have a close relationship to the Georgetown University and the head of neuroethics at the Pellegrino Center Prof. James Giordano. He is visiting professor at Coburg University. The conference is the first part in a series of meetings between the Georgetown University, the Free University Berlin and Coburg University.
