Ass. Prof. Dr. Ayşe DORA ERDILEK has been a lecturer in the Department of Interior Design for Fine Arts at the Marmara State University in Istanbul for 22 years.
"I made my first visit to Coburg University of Applied Sciences in November 2016, when I had the opportunity to join the courses of the lecturers for architecture and design as a guest lecturer for a fortnight. In 2017 and 2018, as part of the design events "Campus. Design Open" I had another chance to collaborate. During this time, I was very fascinated by the discipline and inventiveness of the students for their project work as well as the professional way of teaching of the lecturers from the fields of architecture, art and design. It has been a wonderful experience for me, which has brought me further in terms of my personal academic development and has been a valuable asset for my own work as an interior designer."
Coburg university
Coburg University of Applied Sciences was founded in 1971. In the following decades a modern university campus with lecture halls, seminar rooms, offices, laboratories and workshops, a refectory and a library developed on the Campus Friedrich Streib.
On the campus, three quarters of the approximately 5,060 students study in the faculties of Applied Natural Sciences, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering and Automotive Technology, Social Work and Health, and Business and Economics.
The Design Campus is the home of the Department of Design with its Bachelor's and Master's students from the fields of architecture, civil engineering, interior design and product design. The historic "Herzogliches Hofbrauhaus" on the edge of Coburg's city centre forms the core of the campus. The interior architecture and integrated product design courses moved in here in the winter semester 1999/2000 after a general renovation. In 2012, new buildings for teaching and research were added, as well as a library and a refectory.
Research at Coburg university
As an university of applied sciences, Coburg university focuses on application-oriented research. The aim of the research activities is to use the results of basic research to solve concrete, practical problems. Application-oriented research thus contributes significantly to the emergence of technical, economic, social and societal innovations. The basis for the scientists' work is the laboratories that are available to them.
The spectrum of subjects at Coburg University of Applied Sciences ranges from design to social and health sciences to engineering and natural sciences. This diversity is also evident in the university's research institutes.

Checklist
- Guest lecturer/researcher contacts the International Office
- The International Office establishes contact to the respective faculty / research department of Coburg University
- Clarification of the core area of the guest lectureship
- Period determining of the guest lectureship
- If needed, an official letter of invitation by Coburg University can be sent
- Route between hotel and university available at the International Office
Possibilities of financial support by the International Office
- Reimbursement of the travel costs (travel lump sum) and the hotel costs (accommodation/breakfast for 90,00 € per night at most)
Before the mobility, the following documents need to be sent to the International Office:
- CV of the guest lecturer/researcher
- Form „Application for financial support for international guest lecturers”
- Cost coverage of the (online)lecture
Please note: If the bank of the international guest lecturer/researcher does not accept euro, additional cost may appear. These costs as well as possible bank transfer fees cannot be reimbursed by Coburg University.
There is no legal entitlement for the reimbursement of expenses. By Bavarian State regulations the payment cannot be transferred before the visiting professor arrives at Coburg University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
