From Coburg to Milan

Wednesday. 03. May 2017 (Press and Communication Office)

Students from the academic program Integrated Product Design presented their projects at the “Salone Internazional del Mobile“ in Milan. The fair is one of the biggest furniture fairs in the world. The students presented products, they developed during their studies at Coburg University.

The students used a self-designed fair stand to show their projects to the public in Milan. They presented projects from the third semester and final projects of their bachelor studies. The projects were characterized by a very experimental way of design. The projects based on experiments with materials. Chistina Mayr analyzed the possibility of bees working as 3D printers, Julia Kantorski and Verena Brandl made headscarfs from human hair. A critical perspective to the society had the topic “aftertaste” – a serie of unique products from Alexander Roser und Michael Lechner.

“We did everything by ourselves, from the financial and logistical planning, the design of the fair stand and the presentation at the stand” said Dorothea Grimm and Jonas Herrmann. “But it was worth it. We learned a lot and made some international friends”.
