A visit from Silicon Valley
In May we were pleased to welcome Professor Randall Bolten for our first Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) certification preparation course. The visiting professor has over 20 years of experience as CFO in the Silicon Valley.
Being an MBA alumnus of Stanford University and the author of Painting with Numbers: Presenting Financials and Other Numbers So People Will Understand You (John Wiley & Sons, 2012), he gave our students powerful insights on how to build a good reporting system and how to create financial models and forecasts. In addition to that, he taught our students how to present and communicate numbers effectively. The course was very well received and proved to be a valuable addition to the other electives taught in our MBA Financial Management program. Professor Bolten also held a talk about “Venture Capital Financing of Start-Ups” for students and visitors at the Coburg University of Applied Sciences. His interesting and outstanding teaching and useful support has equipped our students to prepare efficiently for the FP&A certification.
