Programs in German Language

Application for Bachelor Program

You can apply directly to the University of Coburg if…

  • you have an Abitur (secondary school-leaving certificate, university admission level) from a German school in a foreign country or
  • you have an Abitur from a European school in Germany or
  • you have graduated from a Studienkolleg in Germany (i.e. you have passed the assessment exam).

Evaluation of foreign certificates

If you have graduated from a secondary school in a foreign country, you must have your school-leaving certificates (diploma and transcripts) evaluated before you can apply to study here. The uni-assist e.V. (http://www.uni-assist.de/index_en.html) is responsible for this evaluation.

Please allow 4 to 6 weeks for the evaluation process. Submit your documents early. The uni-assist e.V. charges a fee for this service.

Further information on the English-language Master programs AIMS and Financial Management can be found on their respective websites.

Procedure

Submit an application for an evaluation of your documentation with uni-assist. (At the English version of the uni-assist website, this is called the Preliminary Review Documentation or VPD.) You can do this any time of the year.

  • Register with uni-assist and fill in the personal information
  • select "search study offers"
  • choose the semester, the desired qulification (Bachelor) and the university (Coburg, Hochschule Coburg)
  • Don't choose an academic field. The system will then display all courses. This is important because your application at the University of Coburg is not limited to a specific program of study.

You must submit your completed and signed application to uni-assist including

  • a resume / curriculum vitae in tabular form
  • a certified copy of each of your foreign certificates (and a translation if the documents are not in German or in English)
  • a copy of your personal identity card or passport

You can find additional information about the Preliminary Review Documentation (VPD).

Apply for your desired program of study at the University of Coburg during the application period. (See our Bachelor programs). You can only apply online at Coburg University. Upload the Preliminary Review Documentation (VPD) to our application portal.  If you have not received the VPD when you start your application, you can upload it before the deadline for late submissions.

Special Case: International Baccalaureate

If you have an IB (International Baccalaureate), you must have your certificates evaluated by the "Zeugnisanerkennungsstelle für den Freistaat Bayern".  You should ask for an assessment of your average grade.
